BOSSIER CITY - Daniel Jordan Hahn, Lt Col, USAF, (Ret.) passed away May 10, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Shreveport after a long illness. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Barksdale United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kendall Docter, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Arcadia, LA, with USAF honors. Visitation will be prior to the service Friday from 12 noon until service time.
Originally from Preston, Minnesota, he had lived in Bossier City for the past 50 years. He met his wife, Jane Hiser here during his pilot training and they built their family while serving in the Air Force for nearly 25 years. He flew everything from cargo and training planes to jet bombers, notably the B-47 during the Cold War. He fought in Southeast Asia as a O-1 Bird Dog forward air controller and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and twelve Air Medals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben J. Hahn, his mother, Faith Darling Hahn and his brother, Kenneth Hahn. All were from Preston, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, John and Michael; daughters, Deborah, Barbara and Kathleen; sister, Joyce Wethe Robertson of Orange County, CA; 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
