The Bossier All-Stars crushed host Christiansburg, Va., 18-2 in the first game of the Dixie Junior Boys (13-year-olds) World Series Saturday.
Bossier’s second-round game against Sebring, Fla., in the 12-team double-elimination tournament Sunday night was rained out.
Bossier was scheduled to play Sebring this morning. If Bossier wins, they will advance to Tuesday’s winners’ bracket finals. If they lose, the will play Hattisburg, Miss., in an elimination game at 5 p.m. today.
Bossier was strong at the plate up and down the lineup against Christiansburg.
Peyton Jordan and Jonathan Plant led the way with three hits apiece.
Plant got Bossier going in the first inning with a double off the fence that scored two runs.
Connor Jack Smith went 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Ryan Lawhorne went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice.
Josh James walked four times and scored four runs. Coleman Nerren had a hit, walked twice and scored two runs.
James started on the mound and went 1 2/3 innings. Peyton Donaldson pitched 2 1/3 innings and Lawhorne pitched the final inning.
