Two Bossier All-Star teams were eliminated from Dixie World Series tournaments Monday.
The Bossier 11-12 All-Stars lost their second one-run game in the Dixie O-Zone World Series in Cleveland, Miss., falling to Texarkana, Ark., 4-3.
Bossier, which won the state championship last month, lost to Sebring, Fla., 2-1 in the first round Saturday before defeating White Plains, Ala., 15-4 Sunday.
Bossier pitcher Jonathan Brandon set an O-Zone World Series record by striking out 14 against Sebring, Fla.
Other members of the Bossier O-Zone state championship team were Chase Hodges, Hunter Hollis, Amani Larry, Hunter Nycum, Harrison Tauzin, Jake Fayard, Che Lopez, Trevor Tamburo, Hayden Travinski, Tyson Vorachek, Kaimana Williams and Steven Lutterman.
Bossier fell to host Guntersville, Ala. 15-2 in the Pre-Majors World Series. Bossier went 1-2 in the tournament.
The Bossier team was comprised of underclassmen from Benton, Airline, Parkway and Evangel.
Bossier coach Bryan George fielded a young team. He did not have a player who had reached the age of 17 on his squad.
Only one Bossier Dixie team is still playing. The 13s team opens play in its World Series tournament Saturday in Virginia.
