The Bosisier All-Stars rallied with three runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Monroe All-Stars 6-4 and win the Dixie Baseball 13s state championship Monday night at Walbrook Park.
Bossier advances to the Dixie Jr. Boys World Series, which starts Aug. 4 in Christiansburg, Va. Bossier went 5-0 in the double-elimination tournament. Monroe would have had to defeat Bossier twice Monday to win the title.
Members of the state championship team are Jake Mayfield, Thomas Bush, Ryan Lawhorne, Josh James, Coleman Nerren, Anthony Mulrenin, Peyton Donaldson, Peyton Jordan, Jared Franzaglio, Jonathan Plant, Connor Jack Smith, Ethan Parks and Zachary Hire.
The Dixie 14s state tournament is scheduled to wrap up Tuesday at Tinsley Park.
